On 3 June 2022 (Australian time), Sony unveiled several new trailers for games, including the last trailer in the reel for Final Fantasy XVI. This trailer showcased the battle mechanics even closer and seems a lot more refined than the first trailer. There was also a bigger emphasis on the Eikons including Shiva, Titan, Phoenix, Garuda, Odin, Ramuh, Bahamut and of course, Ifrit.

I can’t wait to play the game on the PlayStation 5.

It’s still really hard to get a hold of a PlayStation 5. (I managed to get the Digital version, but just by luck visiting a Good Guys store.) The PlayStation 5 is an incredible machine and it packs some great improvements over the PlayStation 4 with its solid state drive and clean interface.

Several promotional posters show Pheonix (Joshua) going head to head with Ifrit (Clive), which suggest there will be an eventual sibling clash. The story is sharping up to be one eerily similar to Final Fantasy XII, but one that would make Final Fantasy XIV players proud given that Yoshida Naoki is the executive producer behind this title.
