Lim Kopi is located on Little Bourke Street. It’s a Malaysian restaurant serving hawker style dishes including noodles (dry and soup), rice dishes and dim sum. You can order Malaysian favorites like Rendang Beef on Rice for AUD$16.80, Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken for $16.80, Char Kway Teo for $15.80 and their specialty Cheong Fun from $15.80.
I noticed the venue had pretty small tables for diners along the front end with larger tables towards the back of the restaurant. I gather the restaurant catered for quick lunches near the entrance for quick getaways given it’s pretty close to the serious end of town with courts, law firms and administrative buildings in the area.
I ordered the Penang Chee Cheong Fun for $15.80 which comes with prawn paste, mixed fried tofu, special sauce, chili, dried onion and sesame. It was a interesting mix on a plate with three key features the sweet and chili sauces, the rolled noodles, and then the fried stuff on top. It was tasty, though difficult to combine and eat in one mouthful. I recommend taking your time with this dish and savor it.
If you are keen, you can even order some popular Malaysian drinks like teh tarik, kopi and Asian soft drinks to add to your dish.
